asked dealer to update UConnect while my truck was on service for replacement of EGR unit , plus complain on mic , two days after new UConnect unit was installed with brand new software .

My truck is a 2015 I've never updated my uconnect does this mean mine won't send me a prompt to update over the air ?

Mine is also a 2015 and it recently updated. What's different? Well there are a couple of things that are different. But nothing to get excited about.

Now there's an icon to touch to turn off the screen. Now you don't have to push a darned button located just below the screen to turn off the screen! But then again, the only time I've ever turned off the screen is when sleeping in the truck with the ACC on so that I could run my CPAP.

There's also an icon for 3G interwebs! Woohoo! Oh, wait. My phone gets better than that--and I can use it as a hot spot just as easily.

The only useful update that I can see is that the radio will now notify me when a favorite artist/song comes on somewhere on SXM. I mean, I remember other people's radios doing that for many years. And originally I was able to "favorite" songs/artists. I expected it to notify me when they came on, but it never did before the update. Now it does.

Nothing else has made itself obvious to me. But there has to be more to it. Right? Right?

My display asked me twice about doing the upgade on the short drive home from a restaurant this afternoon. I tapped later and hope it gets pushed during my longer commute tomorrow.

I have a 2014 truck with the 8.4 Uconnect system. Eventually (later this year?) new Rams will have Android Auto capability with the 8.4. The general consensus is that FCA will not update previous model year systems with this capability (whether it's hardware or penny pinching is debated). When these systems become available is there any reason I would not be able to buy the head unit and install it in my truck and have a new Uconnect with all the features? What is the process to have it work if it is possible (entering VIN etc)? I'm not interested in third party systems or trading in my truck. Thoughts? Thanks

Drivingziggy! Before this update I've the air had the dealer updated the uconnect since you purchased your ecodiesel

Sorry typo I meant "over the air"

I figured out that it would only start the download if the truck was running for a while and put into park. I stopped at a rest area on the way home today, shifted into park, initiated the download, and drove the rest of the way home. After letting it idle for a while when I got home, I walked out to find a message saying it was OK to turn off the ignition, exit the vehicle, and allow the rest of the installation proceed.

Have had the update for about 3 weeks; yesterday it just got lost. Every turn it wanted to update the route. Then
the Icon would run off on its own, across the screen. This morning Dealer said they reloaded the software,
seem to work on the way home. still testing

Mine updated fine but also asked to update when I [parked after a 1 hour drive. I shut it off and then put it back into the run position without starting the engine, locked the truck and went about my business for 30 minutes or so. Worked fine when I returned and left. Only problem was sirius presets were lost. Although haven't tried the nav yet. Also see they added a do disturb button on the phone

I've been searching everywhere to see if anyone else has the same Bluetooth issue after the update that I do. The contact caller id doesn't work anymore. It was perfect before-hand. I've re-paired my phone and even set the Uconnect back to factory and still no luck. I can call by name and my media displays the correct name as well. It's just incoming.

Has anyone else seen this or been able to resolve it?

Thanks.

Brock
