If I remember correctly from the recall mail, ram was supposed to be getting things started for cp4 pump recall repairs in June. Its may and it is right around the corner. So has anyone heard any news coming from your dealer about this?

It's two months away. Always has been, probably always will be! It's just like a practical fusion reactor, but on a shorter time scale.
The first parts will roll out in December, most will not see this recall fixed until next year. No hurry, no worry!

Do you know if they are going to do a re-flash on the ECM? Thank you.

I myself would think they would be doing a reflash as they are putting in the so-called new pump. Even if they do not have to reflash there might still be some kind of update. So, if you have a tune of any kind, I would pull it and then put back in after you get the pump replaced.

If the parts "roll out" in December the installs will just be starting after that. To build enough parts for every motor should be a long-term project. My guess is those down will be the first to get the new pumps. Then they will start on the optional replacements but always keeping some in reserve for any old pumps that might fail.

Bet it will be a couple of years for the majority of owners will have pumps changed. By then some will be over 10 years old and more will be "off the road".

GDE has said in the past there will be no flash of the ecm with this recall. @CraigGuy

Are they retrofitting a better pump like they are doing on the Cummins? Or just slapping on another CP.Bomb?

Another cp4.2

thanks for the info. i was wondering about this as well since i'll schedule my for this recall
My dealer told me they are supposed to start receiving 5 HPFPs each month beginning in June. We'll see if those pumps show up. According to GDE, the pumps aren't going to show up until the end of the year. Either GDE is grossly wrong or FCA has been grossly wrong in their timelines.
My dad’s dealer ordered his recall last month. They have no idea when it will arrive but was able to now order. Went and inquired at my dealer and I’m still on ice. Will post update when/if his ever actually arrives. His truck is a 2015.
Since the recall work was supposed to start at end of Q1 this year, I guess I'll keep waiting.

That's what I figured. Completely stupid.

I'd rather a proper fixed CP4.2 that Bosch owned up to, than something jerry-rigged... knowing that Bosch's butt is on the line, you better believe they'll want to make a quality product for this market that will be on the same reliability scale as a CP3.

The CP4.2 is also used in a lot of non-automobile engines, and from what I've gathered from more daunting research, HPFP CP4 bombs are happening in heavy equipment too, which the owners are now cussing a storm, trying to avoid any engine that has a CP4.

Bottom line, Bosch is fixing it, which is a great thing!

That is most likely the answer, Bosch ass is on the line to fix there reputation and money. From a financial perspective it would not make any sense for them to do a half ass fix if it means another failure again down the line.

Well said and I totally agree.

I can't wait till Bosch releases this "fixed" CP4 pump as it will make me even happier with my EcoD. To me, it's well worth the wait.

I would agree except that they have been shuffling the blame for pump failures in North America since 2008. I also have to look at the airbag recall fiasco. Just saw another round of recalls for that!
