Talk to your insurance company and see if you can get a total write off for it.
I believe CP4s are backorderedThe dealer could repair your truck using the current parts and get you back on the road, then when the new redesigned parts are available you can get the recall done. I have heard of some dealers doing this repair as part of the recall (no charge), but some dealers are charging customers to do this. If you pay out of pocket for the repair, it's about $10,000 which is not an easy pill to swallow, but you can submit the receipt to FCA for reimbursement.
But the rumors we're hearing are that the new parts will be available in December, not 2 years away, and when the parts are available, trucks that are sitting on dealer lots waiting for parts will be the first in line to get the recall done.
yeah, you might be right. i didn't think of thatI believe CP4s are backordered
Hello,2016 1500 ecodiesel.
Failed in March 2022 due to z46 hpfp failure. Under recall.
Dealership said it would be atleast another year before the part is available.
Dealership agrees that the engine will be damaged after sitting for 2+ years, but can't do anything.
What should I do? Truck costing about 7k a year to sit in west virginia 200 miles from my home.
Thanks
