Adding Heated Seats and Steering Wheel

How hard would it be to add heated seats and steering wheel? I know I would have to buy a Whole new steering wheel and heating elements for the seats.
But, as far as modules and resistors go, is the base harness there for this upgrade?
Truck is a 2015 tradesman.... I'm new here not sure if someone brought this up already.

Hey Dude,

You can add seat heaters, Canada Seat Skins sells them here: Automotive Seat Heaters | Lowest Prices Guaranteed | Heaters and Massagers

As for the steering wheel heater, not sure if I can help you with that one, never heard of an aftermarket steering wheel heating kit. Too bad that you don't have one, it's hard to go back once you have one, especially with the cold snap we had the past few days...

2015Ecodiesel when I go into work Monday night I will check and see if the wires are installed on all the Ram steering columns. I would think they are but I do not work in that area so I will need to look into it. If they are not then you would have to swap out the whole column to add the heated steering wheel.

I read someplace that if you remove your column cover (torx) and you see a blue plug clipped into a blank holder, your prewired

however you'll need a different clock spring and of course the streeing wheel and its harness

yes based on what ive read the switch bank which is only a three wire harness links up to the bcm

Also seats need to be swapped for heated ones unless you buy the multiple seat harness and pads and seat heat ecu that mounts to the driver seat, I think just buy the seats all ready heated and with the ecu would be easier

The switch bank needs to be installed also and it will link up just not 100% you'll need it dealer flashed for full integration with the truck

Every power source on this truck is BCM monitored and tapping in aftermarket heaters will trip codes from what I understand so there that to keep in mind

I checked with Moparonlineparts on just adding the heated wheel for now. Obviously I need the new wheel, the steering wheel wire harness, and the dash switch panel, part # 56054484AA. Besides programming the BCM, is there anything else I would need to do at least this much. The dealer gave me a labor estimate of about $250.00.
At some point I want to do the seats, and I see a couple options for that, but can't do that at the moment. I sure hope I don't need heated seats to make the wheel work with the switch panel.

Sorry about your MIL.
So are you saying I don't need the wiring harness I mentioned? Also my dealer told me they think I would need the SCCM - Steering Column Control Module, part # 68110740AD to make this work. That module is almost as expensive as the wheel, which I hope they are wrong, because that make this project too expensive. Wouldn't there already be some kind of module in the steering column for all of the other functions on the wheel? My dealer is estimating no more than 260 for labor. Their question to me was, did anyone on the forums make a retrofit of the heated steering wheel work.

I gave up on adding the heated wheel as it would have required a lot more wiring to make it work. Didn't try the heated seats but I think Check Corp makes a kit. They are the Mopar suppliers.

I am actually getting rid of my '14 Ram through the Pa Lemon Law process. My '16 just arrived at the dealer this week. It will have both the heated seats and wheel. I learned my lesson. Way cheaper to add these options at the factory.

For those not having leather seats, get a heating pad from Amazon, install it over the seat (no need to remove the cloth), get some cheap seat covers and put them over the seat with heating pad, do some wiring with a switch and it's done. My seats in the jeep and ram are done this way, about 2 amps per pad.

My truck did not have heated seats as well. I wanted them but I bought the ED at end of model year this past November so my choices were limited. There were other options on the truck above heated seats I wanted more.

I had first bought a cheap heated seat pad from Amazon. It attached with some straps that wrapped around the back of the seat .There were also straps that stretched and clipped on the seat frame under the front of the seat. After using it for about two weeks I returned it. I didn't consider the SRS seat airbag when I bought the heated pad. My passenger had no heated seat either. I didn't want to pull the seats out and pull the cloth off the seat and spend $50-$80 on an internal aftermarket heated pad set. Then I would have to add the switches into the dash and it started getting expensive.

I ended buying this and I love it. They fit into the depression of the seat and don't shift around. The backs are a non slip material that stays were it is put even the vertical back. Yes, they are from China but they are made really well. They have a timer/heat adjustment (30-60 centigrade range) for each seat and only require one 12V socket to operate both seats. There is additional padding in each seat. They came with head rest covers. My only regret is I should of bought black.
