Lock & Go Issues

I've noticed several times now that when we get out & push the lock button on the outside of the driver door, the horn beeps, but the locks don't lock. Sometimes I have to push the button (button on outside of door, not key fob) 4 or 5 times before anything happens. It's done it to both our keys, so it's not just one that's not working properly. Anyone else have this issue or know where to start looking?

Mine does the exact same thing. Over the winter months I had some very annoying troubles with the locks. Sometimes even with the remote the lights/horn would activate and none of the locks would operate. While that seems to have fixed itself for now, I basically can't use the little lock button or what you described will happen. My door handles are chrome as well. I wonder if there is a short in there that detects you touching the outside of the Handle (unlock command) at the same time you push the button (lock command) causing the truck to freak out a little.

I had the same problem. When I had it at the dealer to fix the P02-EE code they fixed whatever the problem was and now it works fine again, time will tell if they got it fixed or not. Take it to your dealer and explain the problem and see if they can fix it. I'm not sure but I think they put a new internal switch in mine at least the drivers side, had no problems with the passenger side.

Hi John,

Can you tell me how you explained the problem to the dealership? I've taken my Ram in at least four times for this issue and they won't even try to diagnose it because they can't duplicate it. I too think it is a short, and have explained to them that I think the issue is really that the handle "thinks" I'm trying to unlock it. There are times that if I just touch the handle (not the button, and not the underside of the handle), the doors will unlock. I've also noticed that when that happens, if you just pause for a second or two after the lights/horn activate, the lock feature will work on the next button push. I also have intermittent issues with the back-up camera (garbled image) and now my dash lights are flickering - all leading me to believe the electrical system in general is having issues. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

See if you can make a title and start a new topic with your questions. That topic you added to is over 2/1/2 years old. Many with answers and ideas may not respond to the "Lock n Go" title. thinking you are discussing how to lock the truck while leaving it running and then go away.

Electrical issues are difficult because they often do not duplicate easily. Best you can do is start playing with connections, from battery to harness issues under the truck. Crawl around and push on all the connections you can find.

I have the same problem. It seems if I push the lock button right away, it wants to UNlock. If I wait a few seconds, it will usually lock.
I can't explain it, but it is frustrating. Fwiw, my 2009 Toyota Highlander has the same feature, and works flawlessly 100% of the time.
