I am in serious need of splash guards. I drive a lot of gravel and tend to get a lot of mud thrown down the side of the truck. Looking at Weathertech currently. Anybody have any other suggestions? Also where is the best place to buy?

I have the weathertechs and like them. They were very easy to install. However, I found that muddy water drained down between them and the fender liner and made muddy marks on the back of them. I took them off and put a bead of silicone caulk on the top of each one and reinstalled them. That solved the problem. I expect this would be the same with any manufacturer's mud flaps.

Hey guys-

Has anyone on here had ANY experience with the Mopar molded mud guards made for trucks with the fender flares? I just wet to my dealers parts dept to buy some and they advised that they only ft in the REAR on the 2015 models due to there not being adequate clearance with the wheel-to-wheel side steps...any thoughts on this? Is this B.S?

Disregard...I did some more "advanced" searching and it appears that others HAVE discovered this problem, the solution is to buy something other than factory Mopar guards by the sound of it!! Ugh.

I have the wheel to wheel side steps and was looking at the Mopar mud flaps. My thought was to remove the plastic cap on the side step, cut about one inch off the side step then reinstall the plastic cap. That should make plenty of room for the mud flap and still have the look of wheel to wheel side steps. Only thing that has me holding off is whether molded mud flaps will hold up driving in snow. I don't do off road maybe a dirt road once in a while but that all.

For those that have the Duraflap which size did you buy? 12" or 14"? Standard length or extra long?.....

TN I just ordered the 12" wide standard length as this is what was recommended by the vendor. They stated the longer or wider ones were normally ordered for oversized tires and the longer rears they normally recommended if you are regularly pulling a trailer to help deflect objects from hitting the front of the trailer. If before I install I think I need longer, I'll return the standard ones.Sorry I can't help with pics as i don't have them installed yet.

Mopar Mud guards on laramie w side steps

Hey folks,

I read some of these posts about the mopar mud guards not fitting w flares and side steps. I ordered them and installed them in under 5 min each with no issues. Dealer told me they updated them. They touch the side steps in front but fit with no modifications or distortion. These say Ram across bottom. Thus far they keep the truck cleaner! :).

My duraflaps hit my side steps and I reversed them (left to right) which shifted the steps back a few inches. It has no visual impact on the truck other than giving a few inches of separation between the flap and side step.

Dura flaps,,12 inch on the front and 14 on the rear. Keeps a lot of stuff, from hitting the front of the trailer. Easy install and nice and wide. Better than the fancy moulded ones. I used them befor , they look nice but it is protection I want, not fancy.

I currently run the weathertech mud flaps but what i found going through the winter months was they need to be a bit longer on the front as there was a huge ice/slush build up midway under my factory running boards, the ice build up stayed all winter, i tried washing them off but found it was taking way to many coins to steam the build up off,now i am thinking of going with the duraflap in the longer version, and this was with only 17 in. studded winter tires, not some oversized rubber

I placed an order for the standard Duraflap SS flaps today. When ordering the rear ones, there's an extra step to verify whether your truck has the flares. I received a detailed email from Jesse this morning just to verify everything, which was a nice touch. I also mentioned that I heard about them on this forum. Sounds like a good outfit!

Boxcab, when I got my rears from them a few months ago they didn't fit quite right. Come to find out there is a slight difference between the 2014 and 2015. After retooling I was sent a new set at now charge. I had already adjusted the original ones so I haven't installed the new ones. They are top notch to deal with.
