According to our resident expert (@GDE), the POOAF code may require a turbo replacement. Please post your year of truck and mileage if you receive the POOAF code that resulted in a turbo replacement. This data may help us better understand what's going on and when it can happen.

I successfully replicated my P00AF code with the associated error warnings and CEL by driving up the same road. Once I cycled the ignition, the error warnings (service electronic throttle, service electronic stability control) cleared, the turbo operated normally, but the CEL remained on.

I drove downhill to the start (I-77 at the VA/NC border), then went northbound up the incline (Fancy Gap, with a 7-9% slope) and got the same error.

So, that's 3x each occurring at about the exact same point on the road. I mean, I didn't drop a pin on my GPS, but if I had, I think they would've been touching.

I took it to the dealer and they pulled the code and annotated it. I have an appointment for "thorough diagnostics" on September 26th.

Obviously, if they say it's been reset, I'll just drive up that road again.

(I've driven that stretch of I-77 in the truck at LEAST a dozen or two times before with no issues. Now, it caused a turbo actuator failure 3 times in row. Yeah...)

Edited to add: The service writer, looking at my warranty, stated that she didn't think the turbo was part of the drivetrain. LOL, we'll see what's up with that. ;)
I was recently towing up I-77 in my 2020 that is now north of 163000 miles and had the Service electronic throttle and service ABS warnings appear along with the CEL. I was just north of the VA welcome center, having stopped there for about 15 minutes. I was towing lighter than usual at only about 3500# with my open trailer and a light car on it. Much of what is described in this thread align with my event, except there was noP00AF code, just these: P-047B, P-0087-00, C0604-00, U0645-00. I headed back to SC rather than risking getting another 400 miles north and having an issue. The CEL remained on for the run back south. When I returned home after making the trip using a rental Ram 2500, I found everything had cleared on my truck after a family member had driven it just a few miles locally. I've towed closer to 8500 pounds over the same section of I-77 a number of times in much hotter weather. The truck has covered about 18000 miles towing around 8500#.

We did have the P00AF pop up with the assorted service warnings about 18 months ago while towing up I-85 in north GA in hot weather. During that event the truck went into limp mode, which made towing the big box the remaining 100+ miles home great fun. I found a clamp for one of the IC hoses had failed. Everything cleared after replacing the clamp.

Is ther any way to verify the turbo isn't on the way out? I have a trip at the end of the month towing between 2500 & 4000 pounds on a loop from SC to MA to SD to CA to NV and back to SC dropping a car off for a friend and bring another back for a family member.

I dug into the codes, and those four codes you state in your post, relate to the active air dam and electrical issues.

Judging from the codes, either the air dam motor actuator is having issues or you have a bad connection or ground.

Take a look at what I sent you, and let us know your thoughts.

Your turbo is fine based on the information provided. Are you still on your factory DPF? How about the factory intake? Factory DEF pump?

Wow, that's an impressive trip! If possible, keep us posted during your travels.

DPF, intake, etc are all original. The only bits that have been changed are the HPFP under the recall and the rear diff pinion and carrier bearings which were quite noisy.

Nice! What engine oil are you using?

My rear differential isn't wearing very well. I'll be pulling another sample in 5,000 miles or so. The fluid comes out dark, and the oil analysis is showing high wear numbers. At what mileage did you have the rear diff rebuilt?
