All was going well until 35527 miles on my 2018 ecodiesel. First CEL was the p0234 "turbo charger overboost" the dealer blamed the K&N air filter which had about 15k miles on it. K&N says that you don't have to clean it until 50k. Anyways i did catch up on the posts that maybe after market air filter is not a good choice.

In about 500 more miles, now I have P0299 "turbo underboost" and U1428 "Service Electronic Throttle"

This truck has had the GDE tune since 900 miles and maintenance (Self) is up to date. Just completed on oil change.

I do see a lot of posts with these errors codes but having a hard time finding the resolution. Any ideas?

Thanks!

I was getting the P0299 Code after about an hour on the highway. I cleaned the MAP sensor, EGR tube, and installed GDE tune, no issues since. I would pull the MAP sensor and clean it. EGR tube shouldn't cause a code but good maintence to clean the build up off of it.

This happened last month. Dealer performed EGR recall replacement, cleaned MAP, tube, verified clean air filter, and maintained GDE tune. Codes immediately popped again. Was the actuator (circuit) in side of turbo. Mileage was 216,000k.

Turbo replaced THEN V08 recall performed. Tuneless now.

Yours in under 36,000 miles...would leave at dealer and get loaner since warranty B2B remains intact.

EDIT: Have the same AFE dry medium filter in the box since less than 5,000 miles. Shanke the dust out of it every oil change. Silca in UOA have alwayes been low and acceptable.
