I have used it on and off. No issues here. Only problem is Walmart always seems to be out of stock when I need it

I hit up the local Luv's truckstop and bulk fill. My daughter just borrowed my truck and did a bulk fill at her local AllStop station. Usually 1.60-1.99 depending on the place and normal price flux. Haven't used BlueDef since the dealer filled it up at purchase. 39K miles and no issues.

Pretty interesting,...Many of those companies are in the agricultural fertilizer biz, where they manufacture urea for fertilizer use.

I fill at the def island but it makes sense to Top Off at the dealer for warranty purposes get it on record

DEF 33% urea 67% deionized Water..Last time I checked that =100% period, Urea is a white powered substances that when mixed with water turns to liquid. Even if it was to get 40/60 the urea would still remain a liquid for years when stored properly.

I have 2.5 gallons of DEF I bought at welle auto for $6.99 5-1-11 its been sitting on the shelf for close to 5 years (TerreCair) I pop the cap and been checking it every year its still good. Dealer(s) that start rumors like bad DEF are just making a statement(s) to blame the product when the real problem is the failed system or sensor(s) it makes it easy for them to charge the owner for their deception ,corruption and incompetency's.

The more DEF you have in your tank the more stable it becomes, I keep all our DEF tanks full, I require that any DEF tank that 1/2 full be filled to full, If I catch anyone dropping below 1/2 tank ,and NOT filling will be subject to lost of vehicle. its the same with fuel tank I never want to see below 1/4 tank.

Yep I've heard all the CA owners that claim I will run down to warning lights and messages before I fill. In cold climates the DEF will freeze (12F or less) the in tank heater will engage at start up, so if you have only 1 gallon of DEF and the element gets hot what do you think the DEF liquid temps going to be Hmmmm, see how you get FUBAR system. Now the dealer can claim BAD DEF.....

Think you all "just been told"

To me an empty tank reads 1/3 full. Don't care what it is and have no sympathy to those who run out. Of course, boats run on the principal Rule of Thirds. That means a third of the fuel going out, a third to get back and the rest is emergency.

You run a boat offshore, it's a lifestyle thing that transfers to everything.

i guess ill try this out next time, what was the price difference in your location OP?

I buy Blue DEF at walmart 2.5gallon bottle for like 12$ i believe? iirc
Super Tech is $7.88. My Walmart runs out quick. I happened by and they had 2 jugs. I bought one. No truck stops or bulk DEF near me.

I just bought a gallon of SuperTech DEF and chucked it in there for good measure. Wish me luck tomorrow, lol! :p

I’m in the ‘keep DEF more than half full’ crowd too.

On a road trip last year that took us from Northern VA to Maine, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Nova Scotia, I didn't see DEF at the pump at any of the places we stopped for diesel either in Maine or in the aforementioned provinces. I bought a 2.5 gallon jug of the Super Tech stuff at a Wal Mart early in the trip - I think it was in Maine - no issues with it. On the way back I filled the DEF tank at the pump at a truck stop in Maryland. I don't live anywhere near a location that has DEF at the pump. I try to catch it when I can, but sometimes a jug is the only way to go. It seems every time someone brings up DEF in a jug, someone has to chime in and tell them not to do it. I never fill the tank with jugs, but it's nice to be able to put enough in from a jug to last until I can get more via the pump at a better price.
