I don't plan on trading it on anything. I plan on keeping it much longer. I had considered trading it in but we are building a new house and with the way interest rates are I just don't need any additional debt and can't quite afford to pay the difference in cash. So until the house is finished and we are all moved in, I'll just change the oil every 3k miles and revisit curing the fuel injector problem next spring.

Also-
Since there is a recall on the HPFP I think it might be a better idea to wait until after I get a new HPFP to fix the injector problem at the same time. But, who knows.

According to my service advisor, the tech will inspect for metal. If there are visible signs of metal, then they are to replace the injectors, lines, and clean the fuel tank. Hopefully they find metal shavings!

So now my truck cranks much longer before it starts on cold (for Texas) mornings.
It still gets 25 MPG in mixed driving though.

Based off the UOA reports, it appears that @Top has a leaky injector. One of the symptoms of a faulty diesel injector is longer crank times.

So my Oil analysis test shows increasing levels of Diesel in my oil. I made the appointment for the dealer to try and find the cause. I have no issues starting...just an occasional puff of blue smoke when I start it. Also doesn't feel down on power. Test results show higher than average levels of aluminum and iron in the oil alongside the diesel dilution. I did have a lot of extra oil that I had to extract just to get it back into the safe zone on my dipstick. 2016 Ecodiesel with +96k miles on it.

First, thanks for posting. This is good information to have. Second, I think there are more fuel diluted EcoDiesels running around than what people know. And lastly, how many miles were on your oil change interval?

ALSO, I ran diesel extreme around 4k miles ago. I also run 4oz of FPPF total power and 4oz of FPPF fuel power in every tankful since 2016. Still running the defective High pressure fuel pump as there are no replacement pumps available until sometime next year. Everything else mechanical on the truck is stock except for the Pioneer head unit.

That's a bummer @Deanmachine
-I'm going to give the dealership a try, but I don't expect much help, if any. If I can't get any movement there, I'm going to remove the injectors and send to S&S Diesel for testing and replace whichever bad injectors there are. Testing is $60/injector plus shipping so that's about $400 for all six. New injectors are about $640 each, then there is all the other lines, gaskets, o-rings etc., so I think I could possibly get everything back to good order for around $1,600 if only one injector needs replacement.

How many miles do you have on the truck? Injectors are SUPPOSED to be covered under the ecodiesel lawsuit extended warranty. For me that's around 120k miles or so many years. whichever comes first. Keep me posted on what you find out.
