You received the updated pump. Some of us live in diesel county where hundreds of EcoDiesels were sold in a concentrated area. I'm just now able to buy my 2003 Jeep Gladiator EcoDiesel which has been waiting for the recall to be completed before it could be sold. It will probably be many more months before they have a pump for my 2015 or 2020 truck. It boils down to supply and demand.
2003?

I'm a little confused. Just got my truck recall done at a dealer when three other dealers said they couldn't get parts. I got the CSSMZ461AA pump with the flyer and the change your fuel filter every 8,000 miles. So, did I get the same old bad pump?
Thanks.
Is it 8000? I thought I read it was 10,000 now. Was 20,000 when I bought my truck.

Wow they were still throwing this engine in vehicles in 2023, wonder what the build date was for the last one off the line?
I'm not sure. They were still taking orders through the end of September of 2023. I assume they were building them through the end of December of 2023.

So my question is --- what is changed in the "new" pump vs the "old pump" is the pressure out different? are the materials different so they don't wear as fast? Is the basic design internally changed? What makes the "new" pumps any better than the "old" pumps? Because they say so? And BTW mine is getting replaced Friday -- brought the EcoRam diesel in last week for a P0087 code. This is my 3rd engine - the first two failed catasrophically when the CP4 went .

Here is the long sad story Bought a new ecodiesel -- 2018 January --- it ran perfectly for 80K miles then suddenly the engine stopped in the middle of the highway and would not restart --- called the local RAM dealer in Flager FL who sai "don't tow it here no diesel tech" so I had it brought to my usual shop who diagnosed catastrophic engine failure and $14K late a new reman direct from Chrysler was put in (shop is certified) and it comes with a 2 year unlimited mileage warranty. Pissed that I was just 20 days out of original warranty and still considering court. That said new engine goes 6 months and 6K miles and white smoke comes pouring out of the exhaust -- engine stops dead and I coast into a parking lot. At this point I had it towed back to my shop (Sam's in Bunnel FL) who looked at it and said engine is under warranty we tried to use a bar to rotate it it's hydrolocked likely from leaky injectors (part of the "new engine" so they had it towed 45 miles to the nearest RAM dealer in Daytona FL -- I told Patrick the "service advisor" it was coming and the fact it had DTC87, 88, engine was hydrolocked and there was a LOT of diesel fuel in the oil. ................................
I don't recall hearing of HPFP failure causing engine failure beyond the fuel system. In you original post, you didn't mention CP4 failure, just leaky injectors. Do you have more info about both failures? Was the second engine new or remanufactured?

I was number 8 on the list at my dealer about 3 weeks ago and now I am #3. I am expecting an appointment in June..

I have a 2020 Ram Rebel eco diesel. I've been getting notices on the Z96 recall, for the past 18 months. I've tried making an appointment with the dealership for this repair, but always keep saying the part is still on back order. Are they being honest or just hesitant to do the repair? I've been told it's a big job, at least 4hrs.

It's not a big job, but most dealerships are only getting two pumps per month. I was able to get my 2020 EcoDiesel scheduled because one of the customers canceled their appointment, so they moved me up on the list. I'm still on the waitlist for my 2015 EcoDiesel.

I may have missed it in this thread, but was the return fuel line to the pump included in the recall. Mine was done about 2 months ago and they put the same line back on and I am fairly certain these are single use lines. I now have a leak from this line and its clear that its the original as its got some surface rust because of its location. Just need to confirm this was in fact supposed to be replaced before making a stink.

So this one in the photo is the new pump ?
if yes I can’t see the MOPAR number !
Yes, that's the new pump.
The OEM part number is 68631088AA and the recall part number is CSSMZ461AA.
They are the same part but the part numbers are different for accounting reasons.
You're not supposed to be able to buy a recall part with a recall part number...but you can buy it under the regular part number.

So, is CSSMZ461AA the same part number or the same pump that is in the trucks that havent had the recall done yet?
